Honestly, with the world the way it is sometimes you just have to laugh
And right now in Brisbane, it's Brisbane Comedy Festival time and there are laughs aplenty. Tonight we braved the rain and ventured out to see British comedian Olga Koch in her show Fat Tom Cruise.
I wasn't familiar with Olga or her work but she proved to be very, very funny. What a master of a well crafted joke, a punch-line that punches, the ability to bust out some great moves and just the right amount of distaste for the font Comic Sans.
It was one of those shows that almost seems to be a stream of random "bits" which come together to be tied in a big, fat, satisfying bow. Underneath the surface of the humour were some very hard hitting messages to take away. But any message is softened with a smile on your face, a twerk and a splash of Comic Sand. Tonight was he last Brisbane show but the festival runs until May 25 so there are plenty more chances to have a good belly laugh. You know you want to.
