Day 14. May 3. The Butterfly Effect

It's hard not to like butterflies. Effortlessly beautiful, colourful and gentle. That they have become the symbol of chaos theory is an ultimate irony.
Occasionally when I'm feeling internal chaos I like to drop by the Bribie Island Butterfly House just to sit for a bit and let the butterflies work their magic.
There is such joy inside the enclosure. The volunteers are bursting with enthusiasm to point out all the different species and astound with facts and figures,
Children are desperate to have a butterfly land on them and only slightly terrified when it happens and everyone wants to capture the best photo.
What surprised me today was the diversity of the visitors. Families with young children are to be expected but for groups of four or five young men this seemed like an unusual afternoon adventure.
You can even buy a butterfly friendly plant on the way out. It was a lovely way to spend a sleepy Sunday.

May 5. Day 16. Reflections of me

They say pets come to look like their owners or vice versa.
