One of the worst pains of a parent is the pain suffered by your baby. That goes both for the fur babies and the familial ones. They don't understand but you do and you just can't kiss it and make it better. You just have to tell yourself short term pain, long term gain.
Both my fur kids had procedures today. Winkle had dental work and Kodak had the snip. Both needed doing, I knew that but that didn't make the hours waiting for the call from the vet to come collect them any easier. The reassuring progress texts during the day did help.
The real issue now is the post operative care. Kodak is a cone head which will protect the operation site. However the instructions to "keep him quiet" don't really gel with the two-year-old bundle of crazy. Also, we need to ensure the wound is kept clean which means no beach. The things we do for love.
And on the upside, as a responsible dog owner the cost of registration is now reduced. Perhaps I can use the saving to buy sedatives... I'm not sure if Kodak or I need them more
